“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” – Proverbs 17:22
I am challenging everybody, myself included, in 2018: Enjoy every moment, have fun, and spread joy to others.
The precious path to peace can best be found through joy and laughter rather than war and dissent. Joy is infectious. If we are more joyful, then it is likely that our joy will spread to others. Resolve to find happiness and laughter somewhere in your day today; and furthermore, to bring laughter or joy to another person you encounter.
We all work in various professions that offer varying levels of stress, frustration and challenges, which at times exposes us to negative forces that can melt positive vibes. I had some regrettable moments of judgment lapses during the past year that I wish could be erased. Unfortunately, they occurred. I owned them, grew and moved forward.
I learned that by being intentional, committed, and focused, erasing negativity can be conquered by spending a few minutes of alone time having fun, laughing, and treating every moment as a gift.
Life passes fast. Most of us are programmed to the point where we don’t enjoy moments anymore because we’re already focused on the next item on the to-do list. It’s OK to take time to soak in the most recently completed task or celebrate accomplishing a goal.
Moments come and go in an instant. The biggest fear is regret. We all have those feelings occasionally. As I reflect on 2017, there are times I wish I lived more in the moment and not just focused on making a deadline.
